This is the original problem from an employee...
I have been suspended pending an investigation in to deliberately falsifying documents. I work within recruitment and during a very busy audit preparation I logged that I had received some verbal references for a candidate that was already placed on assignment. I was pulled into the office by my manager who told me that she had obtained the telephone records and the numbers that I claimed to call weren't on there. I have several questions concerning this:
As I actually didn't write anything false on the application I simply claimed to call a number that the candidate had given us does this qualify as falsification?
In addition this is common in our office I've worked
there for 6 years during which I've probably heard 3 reference calls.
Several of the files that is audited didn't even have proof of right to work, or our own contract signed - a legal requirement as they were already assigned to a client, am I able to ask why my colleague hasn't been disciplined for the above as
the lack of documents was even documented in an internal
audit?
I have had no previous warnings however my manager
has been trying to get rid of me for the past 12 months, I have documented several meetings where she has claimed that I am not performing only for me to give her evidence to the contrary, am I in a position to raise a greviance against
her and would this be done during or after the hearing?
If anyone has any experience of the above could you tell me
what the predicted outcome is likely to be? I have every intention of resigning anyway but I don't want gross misconduct on my work history.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thank you
