I came from California to North Dakota because I was promised a job. Since the first day I was employed I received dirty looks from everybody, sad to say, even the boss. Me being the only African-American there, I soon started to wonder, perhaps I'm only hired so this company can meet the racial diversity requirements? My own personal space was violated by other workers. Supervisors were telling cold lies to the boss about me being a "lazy worker". How could such a professional business be so childish? In the event of bad weather, we are always told to go home (due to the fact we work in construction). Yesterday's weather was awfully stormy so neither me or mt coworker went in. Towards the end of the day I found I was fired from work. I still have not received a professional call from the boss himself or anybody. Why was only I fired, the only African American, but nobody else? I am now homeless in a state that I know nothing about. I was living under the company's housing, however they give one 24 hours to be gone after termination. What ever will I do. |
